Eduard Alcoy: Drawings

Alongside colleagues Hernández Pijuán, Carles Planell and Josep María Rovira Brull, the Catalan painter Eduard Alcoy founded Grupo Sílex in 1957. An acquaintance of Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Alcoy, a publicist and graphic designer, is famous for a unique style of painting, recognizable amongst thousands, a mixture of Surrealism, Constructivism and Cubism. The works of Eduard Alcoy, physically impossible, utopian, implausible, absurd or macabre, always feature an amazing profusion of details in anarchic environments containing infinite symbols. Eduard Alcoy’s work always includes a certain social criticism, and when not depicted through historical characters, are found in his animals and mysterious and disturbing figures. With more than sixty individual and collective exhibitions, and his work in several museums around the world, this is a sample of Eduard Alcoy's drawings for sale at Gaudifond Arte.
