Original graphic work is the artistic work that results from a printing (or equivalent) process in which the artist directly intervenes, and where there is no original work from which copies or reproductions can be made; each print is considered an original artwork. Thus, there is only a fixed number of impressions, numbered and signed by the author -always in very short runs; the total number of impressions is documented and the printing plates will have been destroyed. Many of the great painters have spent time creating graphic work especially as it is more economically viable than creating a painting, whilst at the same time maintaining the characteristics of one -quality, value, investment category and appreciation in value. Engravings, lithographs and serigraphs are original graphic works, all of them original and unique, although you will also find on this page etchings, drawings and watercolours that span very different genres (Surrealism, Abstract, Expressionism, contemporary art) and themes (humour, landscapes, still lifes, portraits, etc.), at a price to suit all budgets.
