Julio González is considered to be one of the main sculptors of the 20th century. He was the founder of modern iron sculpture, had a great influence on some aspects of Picasso's technical and conceptual achievements, and was in contact with Juan Gris, Pablo Gargallo and Modigliani. An excellent draftsman, Julio González and his elder brother and decisive influence Joan González were part of the so-called Paris School. Influenced by the "Art Nouveau" style, these are the two charcoal portraits on paper by Julio González available at Gaudifond Arte.
