With more than a hundred individual exhibitions and works exhibited in several museums in Montevideo, Texas, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and New York, as well as in numerous private collections, Agustín Alamá's paintings are marked by his experiences in French concentration camps during the Spanish Civil War. In the 1970s, Agustín Alamán created the Hiroshima series to portray the victims of the atomic bombings in that city. He painted them with odd proportions, grotesquely and with a primitive force similar to that of prehistoric art, in a style where symbolism, abstraction, stylization and schematism dominate. Predominantly marked by dark colours, Alamán's characters breathe the horror of the nuclear cataclysm. Below you can find the abstract paintings by Agustín Alamán for sale on Gaudifond Arte.
