Founder of the famous artistic avant-garde group Dau al Set, alongside Tharrats and Tàpies, Modest Cuixart was one of its most renowned members. During the early stage of his career, he was influenced by Miró and Klee, and from 1954 on Cuixart's work became first abstract and later informal. A great traveller and prolific artist whose works are exhibited in the most prestigious museums around the world, including the Guggenheim in New York and the Tate Gallery in London, he has also been the recipient of numerous awards and prizes.
