Josep Maria Subirachs: Graphic Work

For almost twenty-two years Josep Maria Subirachs worked on the sculptural groups on the Passion Facade of the basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, creating more than a hundred figures carved in stone and four bronze doors with figurative and dramatic expressionism dimensions. Painter, draughtsman and sculptor, Subirachs has created sculptures using iron, concrete, wood and stone for urban areas and public buildings, while evolving his style into an abstract language. Josep Maria Subirachs has not only expressed himself through three-dimensional creations, but also uses other techniques including painting, drawing and diverse graphic work techniques: etching, dry point, serigraphy and lithography.
